Medicines: Propofol IV 300 mgs
Sedation was administered by an anesthesia professional. Deep sedation was attained.
After obtaining informed consent, the procedure was performed. Throughout the procedure, the patient's blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturations were monitored continuously. The hemorrhoid treatment was accomplished without difficulty. The patient tolerated the procedure well.
Findings:
Internal hemorrhoids were found. The hemorrhoids were Grade III (internal hemorrhoids that prolapse but require
manual reduction). Two bands were successfully placed. There was no bleeding at the end of the maneuver.

This is the E/M section of the forum. I suggest you post your question in the anesthesia section for a better response.

hi, based on the available information on the document it is MAC (monitored anesthesia Care). We use the anesthesia code 00902 anesthesia for; anorectal procedure with the modifier QS. However, there may be other HCPCS modifiers needed here like physical status modifier that describes the condition of the patient at the time the anesthesia was administered; and a modifier that tells who administered the anesthetic medication through an IV. In the document it just says "anesthesia professional." I would also like to mention that strong documentation of medical necessity is required to justify the treatment rendered since hemorrhoid banding can be performed with local or regional anesthesia.

Please read my earlier response. This is the E/M section of the forum not the anesthesia section so posting in the correct section might provide the information/response you are seeking.
