One of the doctors I work for did an aspiration of an abscess inside the breast. During the procedure he numbed the outside with lidocaine and the then removed the purilant fluid from the abscess inside. My problem is associated with the coding of this. It is not an I&D so 10060 code really doesn't apply and it was of an abscess and not a cyst so the 19000 code really doesn't apply as well. Can I get a little help on coding this one?!
