Hello all,
Doctor did do dx laparoscopy, then bx forceps were inserted. The fluid-filled and collapsed w/o substance on removal. This was attemped multiple times.

49320 only or 49321-52?

Thanks and everyone have a great THANKSGIVING!

hmmm, were the biopsies taken and then just lost during retreival? I'm thinking that you may not need to do the 52 if it was actually taken and lost.

any other thoughts?

My opinion:
49321
I would not bill the 52 (reduced services modifier) as surgeon ATTEMPTED bx mult times without success so this effort constitues more than dx laparoscopy.
