I just began coding for a pediatric clinic. One of the doctors indicated she did a heel stick for bilirubin. I am not sure which code to use. Any suggestions?

36416 is the correct code....Usually Insurance co's doesnot pay for it. It is included in the WCC visit.

Once you are able to use (age approp..) 36415, this is paid seperately. Please note that this rule is usually used for Commerical Insurances not HMO's, CAPITATION, etc...
