Hello,

What diagnoses do I use to bill for a breast pump? If they are not having any problems.

Thanks in advance for any help

Z39.1, Encounter for care and examination of lactating mother, would probably be most appropriate if there are no problems or other indications for the pump, but you may wish to check with your payer's coverage policies to see if they have any specific coding requirements or guidance. For example, Aetna lists the covered diagnosis codes in their policy here: http://www.aetna.com/cpb/medical/data/400_499/0421.html

Thank you. The doctor is billing under the newborn. Which diagnoses would be appropriate if newborn is not having any problems?
