I have a doctor who is asking if we can bill for providers replying to patients messages via patient portal? If this is possible do you know what CPT codes can be billed?
 
Hi there. I suggest reviewing the online E/M codes 99421-99423 and the HCPCS virtual code G2012. Typically you need to get the patient's consent before you can bill the service.
