Wiki Cancelled cataract surgery

Patient was brought into the operating room and was given intravenous sedation. Patient became nauseated and was vomiting and surgery was cancelled. Would mod. 74 apply here or 73? Thanks.

If this was an outpatient procedure, I would say use modifier 74 because the procedure was cancelled after the administration of anesthesia.

74- Discontinued Out-Patient Procedure After Anesthesia Administration
