We have a cancer patient that would like to come in to have her chest port accessed and flushed once a month. Is there any reimbursable CPT codes for that or should we just bill for a nurses visit?

We use 96523 for a flush but that brings me to another issue. The RVUs associated with this are .7 while a blood draw from a port 36591 is .66 even though you need to flush the port when the blood is collected. You can't bill both but one would think there is more work involved with the draw and flush.
