Hello,

The patient is s/p PPM implantation (implanted January 2016) and was recently admitted for, "Pacemaker site malfunction." The same didn't complain of any pain. No infection was found, and the patient reported no trauma. Is there a code for erosion of pacemaker pocket? I cannot not find an appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis code. Any ideas, please?

Erosion PPM Pocket

You might consider ICD-10-CM code T81.31- Disruption of external operation (surgical) wound, not elsewhere classified. I think this would be appropriate as the erosion is breaking down the tissue of this wound/surgically created pocket. Or, if the generator is protruding from the pocket due to erosion you might look at Other mechanical complications of cardiac pulse generator (battery) - T82.191-. Hope this helps!
