Hi,
Can we code both Dehydration (E86.0) and Other abnormal findings of blood chemistry (R79.) together? Bcz for R73, E86 is in Excludes 1.
can anyone suggest why is that?
Thanks in advance.

Please ask your question again. You say 'can you code R79.X and E86.0?' Bcz ('because' presumably) for R73, E86 "is in Excludes 1." Do you mean R79 or R73 codes?
Neither codes have an Excludes 1 with E86.0 (not sure which code book and which year you are using but my 2020 AAPC ICD-10-CM Expert does not have the Excludes 1 you are referencing).

Yes, your question is unclear and I'm not seeing an excludes1 note with these codes.

But either way, review your guidelines for the Excludes1 notes. Per ICD-10: "An exception to the Excludes1 definition is the circumstance when the two conditions are unrelated to each other. If it is not clear whether the two conditions involving an Excludes1 note are related or not, query the provider." So you may code the abnormal finding if it is unrelated to the other condition you are coding, but not if it is an abnormal finding that is related.

The notation you have included a picture of is from a 2017 or older code book. This was revised effective Oct 1 2018. You must update your code books every year to avoid this type of confusion.
