We have a surgical procedure performed by a podiatrist with the following description: Open procedure to remove the "Hoke's Tonsil". The Hoke's tonsil refers collectively to the contents (ligaments, fat, small vessels) of the sinus tarsi, which is located between the talus and calcaneus. We have used CPT code 27610 with diagnosis code 726.90 and the carrier denied as "CPT DX does not match". Can anyone help with coding this type of procedure?
