Hello,

Are there any CPT codes for psychiatry to do consultation? Would it just be codes 99241-99245? I am not familiar with this at all, any insight is appreciated!

Hi there! That depends- is your psychiatrist doing consultation in a hospital? Each time my psych doctors do a psych consult in the medical floor- if it's initial consult they use 9921-99223 and if it's a subsequent they use 99231-99233
I'm not sure for outpatient-
 
when billing for a psy provider seeing patients in the hospital. She has time billed 2.0 hours. Are there any additional cpt codes i need to bill for relating to time. This is completely new for me. thanks
