I have a CPC-A and want to get a specialty certification for my job. Do I need the "A" removed prior or can I test for the specialty?
 
CPC-A to specialty certification

You don't need to get the A removed prior to sitting for a specialty certification.

Coders not infrequently take specialty certifications without having their CPC. It's not a requirement to have a core certification to sit for another test.
