Hello,

I am of a primary care/peds background and am helping a friend with their billing. He is a plastic surgeon. Having no plastic surg experiance what so ever, I'm a bit lost. We are looking for correct CPT codes for PACU as well as extended recovery. Any direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!

Unfortunately, PACU is part of the surgery package (from a payment and coding perspective). If, however, your friend happens to own the ASC he's working in (rather than being owned/billed/operated by someone else, like a hospital), he could pick up the facility charges . . . although still, for a long recovery there's not much.

Not sure this helps, but I think I'm understanding you correctly.
