How many times can the codes 99291 and 99292 be used on 1 patient, who is critical and has no changed in their condition?

First I would question whether the patient is really critical if there is no change in their condition - critcal care is defined in PHYS-022 "A critical illness or injury acutely impairs one or more vital organ systems such that there is a high probability of imminent or life threatening deterioration in the patient's condition." Is the provider actually performing critical care if there is not change in the patient's condition; Your patient's documentation should answer that question for you and support any length of time spent performing critical care.

You can bill for more than one 99291 per day if the provider's performing the critical care are of different specialities. Cardio verus neurology, etc.
