Need some assistance. My provider did a BNP on a patient b/c patient was complaining of worsening leg/ankle swelling. My guess is he was ruling out CHF. But she has no CHF. We have no payable dx. Can anybody advise as too what code to use?

You cannot code "edema of leg/ankle", are you familiar with what NCD and LCD diagnosis code(s) are necessary to meet medical necessity? it does not meet medical necessity.
Please provide the office visit summary and I may be able to help you obtain a coverable diagnosis.
