Our practice is updating our collection policy and the following question came up -
Scenario:
Patient comes into the orthopaedic practice and is treated. Patient does not pay balance and it sent to collections. Patient calls one year later with a NEW problem and wants to be seen.
Can we refuse to see the patient? Should we be formally discharging these patients from our practice?
