Hello everyone

Doctor writes IDDM can I code 250.01 or the doctor should write tye 1 or type 2

IDDM is no longer an anacronym for type I diabetes, the guidelines stste that neither age or insulin dependence can dictate the diabetes type, if the type is not documented by the physician then the coder must default to the fifth digit of 0.
