I Am Having Hard Time Trying To Find Dx For " Status Post Mitral Valve Repair" Does Anyone Know This Dx.

There isnt an ICD-9 code for S/P Mitral valve repair; however you can use
V43.3 if the mitral valve was replaced with a prosthetic valve.

If the physician replaced the mitral valve by prosthetic valve then the correct ICD code is V43.3.

Could you use under "History, surgery to Heart", V15.1 ? or if you might have had a complication following surgery "Complications, surgical procedures, Cardiac", 997.1 ?
