Patient is referred for a chest x-ray because of chronic cough. Chest x-ray shows a 2 cm peripheral pulmonary nodule. What diagnosis code(s) would there be?

786.2 and 793.11 as secondary?

Thanks for any help.

Findings would be primary followed by symptoms.

If the symptoms are inclusive to the finding you do not code both, code only the finding If the symptoms have no relationship to the finding then the finding is incidental and is coded last with the symptom first-listed
