Diagnosis for Radiation Necrosis of Brain

What diagnosis code is or can be used for brain when the path comes back as Radiation necrosis, no tumor identified. It's not really radiation sickness.

I disagree with G93.89 - radiation necrosis of the brain codes to I67.89 via the alphabetic index.

That code comes up with cerebral vascular disease. I did what you did as well with the index and couldn't understand why it came as vascular disease. Very interesting.

Yes, cerebrovascular disease doesn't sound right for this condition, but keep in mind that this is just the code descriptor, not the diagnosis - they don't have to match. The alphabetic index takes priority for classification purposes.
