is there a diagnosis code for the CT following a discogram. i was ask the question should they use the same diagnosis code that they use for the discogram or is there a code for after dye placement?

The CT would be done for the same reason that the discogram was, so the same diagnosis code is used. (and by the way, the CT is coded as a without contrast, not with scan.

The order for the CT should list the reason. You may also discern this from the Rad report--if it is appropriately documented. This would be the reason. Most of the time, I would conclude they'll have the same dx, but not always.
