Hello,

I need help with a scenario so we can get the workflow correct in our clinic. I understand diagnostic allergy testing 95004 and 95024 have a requirement for direct supervision and this supervision cannot be done by a mid-level. My question is whether the midlevel can see the patient first and order the test (billing the office visit under the said mid-level) then bill the test under the physician who is supervising in the building when the test is performed?

I found an article by Barbara Cobuzzi on the supervision and it has a line that may be confusing me:
3934
Does this mean the physician has to see the patient first and order the test or is the above scenario ok?

Thank you,

Bobbi
