We received a denial from insurance stating the DX code F31.2 does not support the level of service rendered. This is a whole inpatient hospital stay. Has anyone experienced this issue?

The ICD-10 diagnosis code F31.2 signifies Bipolar disorder, current episode manic, severe, with psychotic features, indicating a severe manic phase of bipolar disorder where the patient experiences delusions or hallucinations, representing a break from reality, according to ICD-10.Provider needs to add more reason why F31 happening. See the dx list of R45 or R46 IF this happened. Or add depressionF32 or PTSD F43 or Anxiety F41 which should be supported. Also add Z code if had mental health problems in past
