I'm reviewing a Pulmonary Function Study and there is no indication at all listed and the impression states: No obstruction, moderate restriction, normal diffusion, no signifcant response to bronchodilator. So I have no DX code listed on the dictated report. My question is can you use the DX's listed on the order for the test in instances like these?

Hi,
First I would query the physician. There has to be indication for why the test was done. Then, the physician will have to do an addendum and list what this is. The order is a great place to start for a diagnosis code, you might want to ask the physician if the order is correct dx to use. Hope this helps :)
