Wondering if someone would be able to help out with coding?
New Pt seen in the office for a peri-rectal abscess. Surgeon sends the pt to
the hosp. same day for an I & D - Can I bill the new pt ov with a modifier because I cant use 57 as an I&D does not have a 90 day global. Thanks for your help.
 
If the same provider (or partner) performed the surgical procedure that saw saw the patient for the new patient exam, I would append the modifier 25 to the e&m service.
