12.2.11 The physician sees the patient for an I&D and charges 99213 & 10060 w/o modifier or 2nd diag. Only diag. 682.2 Should E/M code be charged?

12.7.11 Same scenario. The patient had same site I&D.

12.16.11 charged 99213 9 days after I&D to look at site. Should this be charged or is it post op?

From the above info.... it seems to be that the I & D was a planned procedure? If it was then you wouldn't charge for an OV.

On 12-7-11 was this a f/u to the initial I & D and it was deemed necessary to repeat the I & D on same site?

12-16-11 would be global days.

E/M visit & I&D

No. Not follow up. The site got worse and the patient returned. I don't think the patient should have been charged. It was also in the global period.
