Help! In an op report I'm coding, the general surgeon documented that he used esophagogastroduodenoscopy to place a nasogastric tube into the stomach. He did not use fluoroscopy; he used his endoscopic vision only. I cannot find a CPT code that would accurately report this procedure. Thoughts? Advice? Thanks for your help!

The physician examines the upper gastrointestinal tract and places a tube or catheter. The physician passes an endoscope through the patient's mouth into the esophagus. The esophagus, stomach, duodenum, and sometimes the jejunum are viewed. The physician places a tube or catheter through the endoscope. The endoscope is removed.
