Would you say that an EKG tracing with the computerized generated results signed off/initialed and dated by the MD qualifies for billing/coding for the professional component with cpt 93010.

As per the 1995 guidelines an intial on the report qualifies for a review.
DG: The review of lab, radiology and/or other diagnostic tests should be documented. An entry in a progress note such as "WBC elevated" or "chest xray unremarkable" is acceptable. Alternatively, the review may be documented by initialing and dating the report containing the test results.

A 'review', for E&M purposes, is different from an interpretation and report. The physician may indicate by signing or initialing the report that he or she has reviewed it, but an interpretation and report requires a written statement documented in the record as to the physician's assessment of the results. I would not bill 93010 if the provider's initials were the only documentation. Computer generated results do not qualify, unless the physician has specifically stated that they agree with those.
