This is a prime care clinic, NP did the EKG and her note includes results. Doesn't state MD read and interpreted. Md made a note stating interp only and billed 93000, i know thats the wrong cpt for interp only but I am more concerned with how to respond to the this doc, shouldnt this only be billed by the NP?

If the MD interpreted and CREATED A REPORT, they can bill the 93010. Just saying they interpreted it is not enough.

The NP should bill the full 93000.

Will the MD also get paid? It's possible.

93000 is a global code that includes the interpretation. If the a different provider did the interpretation, then you can split the charge and code 93005 for the technical service and 93010 for the interpretation only.
