One of my physician's just told me he read somewhere that EKGs are bundled into E/M codes (ex: 99223).
Can someone verify this?

They aren't under the CCI edits. I have never heard of this myself so I will be watching to see if anyone has anything to support them being bundled.
What could be an issue on the inpatient side is the technical component of the EKG. Odds are that is not the providers equipment being used on the inpatient side so they would probably kick it if it is billed globally.
