Hey all,

The hospital I work for have our ER physicians and Hospitalists under the same TaxID.
When our ER physician sees a patient and admits to inpatient: then the hospitalists sees the patient the same day- We are getting the ER charge denied...
Is this correct? Is there anyway around this as they are different physicians.
Any help would be greatly appreciated (I am new to ER)

Thank you!!

The ER doc is billing for the admission? The ER doc should be billing for their services in the emergency department. Then the hospitalist who is generally listed as the admitting physician should be billing the admit code.
