My plastic surgeon will perform a procedure on a previously reconstructed breast, to fix defects. She will harvest fat from the abdomen using cannula used for liposuction, lets the fat separate, and then injects the fat into the defects within the breast to get a better appearance.
She wants to bill 19380 for revision breast reconstruction...but I was thinking 11954 (subQ injection filling material, over 10 cc) for each defect, and 20926 (fat tissue graft) would be more accurate. Am I minimizing what she is doing?
How would you all code this?

I don't do a whole lot of plastic's but I think you are right!! The doc is way off by trying to use the reconstruction code.

Did you ever find the correct or most appropriate code to use on the fat injection?

Like you I suggested 11954 but is currently using 19380-52. am not too sure of 20926 yet...what have you found?
