Just read an article that pathologists are to use new terminology for cervical dysplasia, low grade for CIN 1 and 2 and high grade for CIN 2 and 3. So if the pathologists report states favor high grade dysplasia and not CIN 1, 2 or 3 OR mild, moderate or severe dysplasia. What diagnosis code do we use? MD states it is high grade cervical dysplasia.

R87.613 would be for cervical PAP. If the pathology was from biopsy, or a procedure (D&C, LEEP, etc.), based on previous advise from my physician, I would use D06.9 CIN III if the pathology report states high grade.
