I do very little ortho coding so I am probably over thinking this, but if a patient comes in with a fractured foot and the doc just puts him in a walking boot, is that still to be coded as a global? It seems a bit expensive to just put the patient in an "off the shelf" boot and charge a global fee but if that is what most of you ortho's do then I am ok with that. Just need claification.
 
In our practice if the provider chooses to charge fracture care what you stated is true. But should they wish to not charge fx care then we would bill out ov to ov.;)
