Hey,

Just wanting to verify info that I've been instructed to do on Hammer toes. Was told that Hammer toe procedures are diagnosis driven, not procedure driven and no matter how the hammer toe was repaird (ei: arthroplasy, tenotomy) it would be coded 28285. Any input would be helpful

I disagree.
I code the procedure described in the body of the OP note.
FYI--Per Surgical Cross Coder, dx 735.4 is listed under 28234 (tenotomy) as well as 28285.
