Hello fellow coders,

have a question, one of our ortho docs did a hardware removal of the ulnar styloid also @ same time a dark tissue mass was noted in the area and removed, would this not be inclusive to hardware removal?

Thanks for your help
Paula

Procedure in detail:
upper extremity was prepped and draped in the usual sterile fashion w/ well padded tourniquet on the upper arm. an incision was made over the area of the ulnar styloid through which the hardware was removed under fluro guidance. a dark tissue mass was noted in the are. Therefore, it was elected to excise the mass and sent for pathological analysis.
This is what leads me to believe that it was inclusive

Thaks for you help appreciate it
Paula
