I am trying to code a chart with dx of:

COPD/B.Asthma exacerbation.

I am using 493.22, is this correct? On of my co-workers suggest that I do it like this:

496
493.92
490

I don't agree.

Anyone.........

Karen,

Your using the correct code, just out of curiousity... ask your coworker why you'd code it the way he/she has stated.

THANKS ALL -

I knew I was right and should have not second guessed myself. Thanks Lisa & MCHUBB, I said the same thing you said - it represents all. Roxanne - I told her she was basically coding the same thing over again, but I got that face, like don't tell me..........

But anyway, thanks again GUYS! I always learn alot from you.
