Doctor did an open right-side hernia repair on indirect and direct hernias.

The doctor excised the indirect hernia as part of the repair, but the direct hernia was repaired "using the Gore-Tex soft tissue patch, which was soaked in Ancef and cut to the appropriate size, the direct hernia was repaired". He doesn't ever mention excising the hernia.

Can these two repairs be coded separately and would you use the unlisted code for the direct hernia repair?
