If a PA employed by a hospital does an initial inpatient consult for a surgeon employed by a hospital, and the PA dictates the consult report and discusses the patient with the surgeon can both the PA and physician bill a consult? The surgeon co-signed the PA's consultation and performed surgery the next day. What can the surgeon bill?
