Patient came to our facility with a rather large cyst on his back on 4/14/09 and Dr. assessed and we scheduled for I&D. First visit only charged E&M.
2nd visit was done on 4/23/09 in which Dr. did an I&D. On 4/27/09 he came in for re-check. Here are the notes on that last visit.

Assessed ABSCESS, SKIN as improved - the wound was anesthesized with 2 lidocaine with epi by local infilteration. The wound was debrided and irrigated before fresh iodoform gauze was inserted again. Wound was then dressed again and wound care d/w patient and his wife. May return to clinic in 2 days if drainage continues.

Is this considered global? Or is there any part of this visit that can have a charge?

sounds like he did a wound debridement to me..which is codeable and would possibly require a modifier depending on the procedure code that was coded out on 4/23
