Hello,

I don't generally code inpatient. I have a complaint that a surgical procedure for an overnight patient in the hospital for surgery (surgeon) was coded incorrectly.

What would be considered accurate for 31256 CPT with ICD10 H53.9 ? Can you please tell me how this would be coded for 2022 guidelines? A bit more context ,although probably not relevant, this is a self pay patient who is trying to negotiate bill.

Much Thanks!
Sandra

Are you asking for the facility code (ICD-10-PCS) or the code pro-fee code? The diagnosis code seems odd to go with that dx code. Definitely need more information on procedure performed and reason it was performed.

Hi,
Thank you for your response. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Pro-fee is the Surgeon's code, right? I have that the patient did present with visual changes. A definitive diagnosis wasn't reported for post surgery. I am not in a position to query the provider regarding that.

So, I would like to know the ICD-10-PCS please. Any help you can provide is appreciated.
