Our neurosurgeon is wanting to start doing post mastectomy injections for chronic pain. This would be a nerve block done in the chest. Perineural infiltration with a combination of bupivacaine and dexamethasone. We have not done injections before so I am not sure how to code for this. Any help would be appreciated.
 
You would use 64420 for a intercostal nerve block, single, and 64421 for multi level. Check you carrier for appropriate diagnosis codes.
