What CPT codes would you use when the pathology reports states that plasma cells are rare and rare Kappa and Lambda-positive cells are identified (by In-situ hybridization)? Normally the results of the ISH stains are reported quantitatively, but in this instance it is reported by qualitative analysis. Would you use the 88365/88364? Some say to report 88342/88341 but that is for an IHC stain, not ISH.

I use 88365 / 88364 when we have Kappa/Lambda FISH, qualitative.
If you're not sure, you could check with the reference lab that does the testing. For example, our rep from the CSI lab is always very helpful with CPT questions!
