I code for a urologist who often inserts a lighted ureteral stents for surgeons who are doing other procedures that don't have anything to do with the urinary system such as a colectomy. I have been told that the correct cpt code for this procedure is 52005. My problem is, finding an appropriate diagnosis code that will get this procedure paid for. Any suggestions?
