Mammogram script returned for incorrect diagnosis code of Z12.31 on a 74 year old patient.
Stated the DX code was not appropriate for age?
Does anyone know what Diagnosis to use?

There is nothing wrong with that diagnosis if in fact the mammogram was ordered as a screening service. Medicare covers a screening mammogram annually for all female beneficiaries over 40 years of age and this is the diagnosis they accept, and I would think most other payers would do the same. I think you will need to speak to whomever returned this to you and ask why they have an issue with it.
