From my understanding the BMI codes were for HEDIS and no additional payment was provided to the provider. One of my physician came to me today saying that she has seen where other pediatric offices are getting paid separately for reporting the BMI. Is this only during well visits only? What are the CPT codes? What is the correct way to bill for Pediatric BMI for commercial payers for reimbursement? Does anyone have any literature on coding for the BMI for pediatric patients? Thank you for your wisdom on this matter.
