If my Dr. sees an established patient and has 2 diagnosis codes....allergic rhinitis due to pollen, and chronic rhinitis(these are not new problems, but are no better). He orders an allergy test. Is the allergy testing considered moderate risk(in medical decision making)?

In the DATA portion of the MDM, a limited = 1 out of the 2 categories needs to be met. Say, we can place the allergy testing in the moderate..., in moderate data you have to have another 2 more tests ordered or review to support a moderate amount of data. And so, if the allergy test is all they have ordered it's not a moderate data. Hope I didn't confuse you. :)
