My provider told me that per Medicare Advantage, any new patient diagnosed with Peripheral Artery or Vascular disease, would increase our monthly stipend for the patient by $100. I am trying to find out if this is true and where I can find this on the Medicare Advantage website. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

Avoid MRA coding and dollar amounts

Whether or not a diagnosis code is risk adjusted is irrelevant to assigning the proper diagnoses for a patient. The doctors stipend is determined by their contract with the plan and not by CMS. CMS publishes a list of risk adjusted diagnosis codes and their assigned risk values used to determine aggregate payments to the plans.

Discussions of the dollar amounts associated with the assignment of diagnosis codes may be interpreted as improper and should be avoided at the practice level. Diagnosis codes are assigned only according to supporting documentation of the assessment and treatment of the condition.
