The patient is a 66-year old male who had sustained an injury to his right knee when he stepped into a hole on the sand on the beach. This resulted in significant and persistent billow-sided joint pain. While he had a history of previous knee problems, he had not had this level of symptoms that was persistent. An MRI demonstrated the presence of the medial meniscal tear as well as degenerative lateral meniscal tear in the setting of mild to moderat knee osteoarthritis. Because of the new and persisten symptoms, it was recommended that he undergo knee arthroscopy with partial meniscectomy to try to control these new symptoms and return into his baseline.

Would the dx be S83.241A and S83.281A
or
S83.241A and M23.300

Thanks for any help
